Is there a point where it moves from asking the right questions to finding the correct(factual) answers?

apparently, dave..there is not a "right answer". that seems to be the point of the church. each person can have a different answer. At least, thats what I gather. This kind of breaks my heart yet there is alot of truth to it. Jesus was crucified to show his love, yet they dont accept it. I understand their journey though...I really do. Love Wins. Yes. but..it was because of Christ.

I've read your comments. Anyone who professes to live the seven UU principles to the best of their ability would not censor you. As a "Cradle Presbyterian" of many generations I was proud of Chicago First Pres and its compassion and actions, 1950s on. I attended Presbyterian schools and could not accept the fantasies and convoluted Bible(knowing how it came to be) Everywhere, people do not measure up to stated principles.UUs are human, but most TRY.

Too many contradictions. Example: Unitarian Universalism emphasizes everyone's inner-light. What if I worship darkness? I mean that's ok. And though you may challenge my belief... I still believe it. But now I have a contradiction to what I "believe". So do we really get better or we just get more confused? Or do we keep adding everyone's opinions to our own way of thinking so we have such a mass of contradictions we have no idea even if a wall exists of if pain is real.

amazedcreation: I'm not sure what you mean by worshiping darkness, however we do have our 7 core principles that help guide us. I would say that if you disagree strongly with any of them, then you are not really a UU. You might find it hard to both worship "darkness" and follow those principles at the same time. You would still need to use reason to cut through such contradictions.

I'd also like to add that UUs don't add everyone's faith to their own. Its not a stew, it a place to figure out for yourself what you believe. UUs treasure diversity of all kinds.

I love that unitarian universalists not only try to understand one another, but try to help one another understand themselves, and really, and I mean really try to let them be their own individual person. UUism allows people to live the best part of themself, and focus on what's really important to them in life. We discover together individually, how we want to live our life.
