no matter where any religion was evolved etc, as long as it teaches good faith, the truth is one.

Guys - It is simple. Buddha WISHED he knew the real truth and then said we need to get rid of all 'wishes'. Funny.

And then he ran away in the middle of the night leaving his wife and son behind. Is this not selfishness to leave a family behind to attain self enlightenment? He has been portrayed a hero while he got all by chanting Om (Hinduism). I know I will be spammed and chided in this forum but I am glad few will read this and agree with this fact.If truth pains you'll thumbs down, I bet!

u should take account of the whole story,he did make the decision to leave his wife and child coz he felt impelled to seek the path of wisdom and discovery of truth, thing that should be important for all of us;it is not selfishness he didnt wanted to seek the solution for just his problems, but everybodys pain and sufferings and his contributions are very important, and are not points of view or an imposition,I found his teachings in my life, asking the same questions that he did.&buddha was prince

I like the choice of words you used, he did WISH to find the truth, and he realized that wanting to find the truth is what troubled him. Thus why he preached to shed ourselves of such a desire.

And he didn't leave with goal in mind to find enlightenment. He saw the corruption in the religious caste system, where priests should be the ones impoverished and holy. Yes, it was selfish what he did, I don't disagree with you. In ultimatum however, It turned out for the better.

Live in love.

You know, aside from other intentions, at a logical level, it wasn't like he was he and his family were destitute and THEN he left them. They were rich. His family would have been perfectly comfortable without him. Even if he gave up the money his family would have connections with other wealthy families within the same caste.
