Stupid question son, bodyweight trianing develops raw strength without unesecarry showoff muscles.

unnecessary showoff muscles aren't always a bad thing you know. I'd rather have the strength AND muscles

Cheaper? Looks cooler? Static strength?

in my oppinion, doing weight training _unly_ by lifting weights just strenghtens one muscle/part of muscle group at once while doing with own body weight + additional weight added as ie. weight jacket gives more space to do moves that train multiple muscles and musclegroups during that same move

well u have static strength if u use your own body weight. like a body builder of something couldnt do planches and stuff like someone who has static strength. static strength is good for stuff like martial arts breakdancing ect.

I would say theres more creativity involved using your own bodyweight as resistance compared to the monotany that can grow with using just weights. Also, some people dont have a local gym around nor have the money to purchase a membership or weights. I personlly do all types of variations in calisthetics like this as part of my conditioning for parkour. In the end though, to each his own.
