Honestly I love her music, but this video is fakin M.I.A.`s "galang" so obviously it`s ridicilous. I sometimes get the impression that in japan it`s not considered wrong to fake another artists work, becuase a lot of Japanese artists do that. It`s kind of sad, because she IS very talanted and has great lyrics, so there`s no need to do so. Hope to hear more from her...

Have you no idea who Goth-Trad is?
Christofstau (May 29, 2008 at 8:19 am)
no, but i`d like to know.
i wonder why you rate my comment negatively. i dont want to stereotype but the tendency i have described exists, most of my japanese friends agree on that, btw i am german and i could say the same thing about the german music industry, anyways *sigh*

honestly, i don't love her muisc, but i have to defend her here, other than that she spells R.U.M.I. out at the beginning, there aren't any significant similarities that would go to show that M.I.A. has even influenced rumi. sure, the musics electronic and rumi is a woman, but as far as the sound goes, they're no where near each other. the video might not be completely original, but what is? and to make a point about japanese artists stealing styles, the video has plenty of aspects that are

uniquely japanese. santogold, maybe, rumi, no.
