food, water, and shelter are NOT affection. its basic needs!!!!!!!!! what will you do if he acts bad? not feed him?!? what is wrong wit you!!! and why dont you let your dog SNIFF?!?!?

this guy is often criticized of abusing animals though. there are many orginizations that think he is too violent.

Cesar Millan is a criminal and a shifty, snake oil salesman, selling quick fixes to a largely ignorant audience. He has one simple solution to all problems: HIT IT! His brutal approach appeals to the lazy dog owner who is not interested in communicating with the animal but is more interested in "dominating" it with brutal force.

I have 4 dogs & after reading Cesar's books I started applying the concept he promotes. Establishing my role as Alpha leader with bites, had the opposite of the desired effect.
While before the dogs had just a few problems, appying Millan's methods has terrible aggression & now they all fight all the time. They never had aggression problems but as a real behaviorist explained it to me this is called redirected aggression, and one of the reasons why Millan's methods are so dangerous.

There is much to be learned from Cesar's books and his television show, The Dog Whisperer. Those who have been lucky enough to see him in person have an additional dimension in which to experience and appreciate his talents. In the two years I've known of him, several friends and family members have put his methods to work with great success. He has become one of my heroes.
