Does God Give a "DoOver?" (Rick Warren vs The Gospel) (1of2)
BackDoes God give a mulligan (or do over) or has Christ already shot the perfect round for everyone who believes in Him? Well, according to Rick Warren, it's the former. Is what he's preaching the Gospel or is that another Gospel which is not another at all as Paul warns about? You can read up on this more in this post:

Have you heard? Rick Warren's got a new Christmas book on the shelves.

Rick Warren and the false gospel he preaches must and will be condemned from the scriptures (Galations, 2nd Peter, and Jude) by all authentic Christian leadership. Other leaders that have embraced him publically and seek to legitimize him as a well meaning Christian brother harm the elect. Warren has without repentance preached 30 million copies of a false gospel to the dead. Nothing in the scriptures provokes greater promise of impending doom&wrath from the Holy Spirit than false prophets.

Rick Warren has been given a program by God that actually changes lives. Talk about twisting words to make a point. Nothing that Rick Warren said was out of line. If you you have faith in Jesus you are half way there. The other half being a Godly repentance unto salvation. Yes the demons believe, which is the first half, but it stops there with them. If you confess with your mouth..half...and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead...other half...you WILL be saved...

A person without the Holy Spirit cannot repent of his sins or do anything that is pleasing to God. Those that are in the flesh cannot please God.
I don't clean myself up before coming to Christ, I clean myself up after I believe and God gives me a new heart and fills my with His Holy Spirit, and then I go become and different person because I repented of my understanding of who Jesus is and received His gift of new life.

The bottom line is,RW is a good works preacher, hes involved with people and things that a pastor has no business being involved in. The bad doctrine in Celebrate recovery should tip people off,and he twists scripture to fit humanistic ideas.

I believe that both sides bring some important truths to this matter. In one sense, Jesus taught about this remarkable love that the Father has for the lost (Luke 15)by three strong stories/parables. For the prodigal son, it could certainly be viewed as a mulligan or Do-over. Even the prodigal son pondered the chances of a father's acceptance on his return. And on the other side, the Bible teaches about the wrath of God. It's funny that angry people like to talk more about wrath than love.

So do you hold that it is a matter of what someone does in and of themselves that determines if they are saved or not?

Christ spoke far more about hell (you know, as a result of God's wrath) than heaven. Perhaps he was just an angry man.

I'm not too sure that you know what a "Pharisee" is. No offence intended.
