'Television': Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

"Every interview is a comedy, as is perhaps every bond built up by speech - including even analysis. [...] Lacan never shied away from theatrics - it goes hand in hand with the use of discourse. The bores reproached him for it; they reason badly. What we agreed upon beforehand was that I would converse with Lacan in front of the cameras. But that was not possibly for after every cut, when it was time to start up again, Lacan shifted a bit - in his discourse. Each time he gave an additional twist to his reflections which were unfolding there, under the spotlights, thwarting any chance of bridge-building. We stopped after two hours; I gave him in writing a list of questions; and he wrote this play, 'Television', in about two weeks time; I saw him every evening and he gave me the day's manuscript pages; then he read or acted out - with a few improvised variations - the written text you have before you. He made a spring-board of this false start.'

J. A. Miller, 'Microscopia: An Introduction to the Reading of Television', (1987), trans. B. Fink (1990).

Too funny. Here we have one quack railing against another quack. Typical, will it ever end? Interesting this quack in the vid is railing against the ORIGINAL quack & his quack sex theories Frued - the original quack trend setter. Isnt it fun studying crazy, mentally ill quacks, who diagnose other non quacks as being crazy?

Oh, did I mention that the above quack is a quack? I cant remember if I called this quack a quack, if I did not I want to make sure I said this guy is a QUACK.

Thank god quacks like this are not given any positions of importance in world affairs. The would would be in serious trouble if these psycho quack kooks were allowed to run the loony bin we call society

Yet another self aggrandizing pompous dilettante psycho babbling quack. There are so many. This guy is so full of himself there is no way he would have ever been able to help anyone.

Gave me a good laugh though.

Psychoanalysis is another lie to come from the French. It isn't reality, you people should stop wasting your fucking time and read SCIENCE

What a ignoble translation. Poor english mother tongue people... You will never understand Lacan's speech and thinking!!! Go learn some french and then try to read to argue with a little bit of knowledge... Pathetic people, you better go watch tv, eat some Mac Donald's and drink some beers. God bless america!!!!

Fine. The next time you French need your butt bailed out of a sling like the US did in world wars 1 and 2, don't depend on the US aircraft carriers and millitary assistance. You can call the russians to liberate you instead and build a wall to divide Paris into four sectors. We'll sit on a fence eating big macs to see how long your precious french culture lasts with the russian occupation.

Or perhaps one of psychiatry's many victims.
