Beautiful plants, 5-star vid.
Critter trapping one-way tubes, gooey, sticky prongs and surfaces that slowly curl in on the prey...all are impressive adaptations to nutrition-impoverished soil. But nothing is as over-the-top FREAKY as what the Venus' flytrap has managed to accomplish. How does it do it? Through a combination of everything from something called "fast growth" (along the outer edge of the trap's hinge), electrical impulses, something involving calcium ions...huh, what? Uncanny.
