"Mehter" is an Ottoman word, "Mehter Team/Band" is the first military band in the whole world.
today in Turkish we translate "Mehter" as "büyük", "pek ulu"
in english it can be translated as "grand", "serebe", "sublime".

so Mehter Takımı:
"Grand Band"
"Grand Band of Great Ottoman Army"

ok cool. Maybe I used wrong translations. Because I thought the word "Farsça" meant "Persian". I found this info in a Turkish site.

The word Mehter is derived from the Persian dialect. Back in those days Persia was under the Ottomans. I am a member of the Australian Mehter Band.
