Before u make fun of the supposed Indian accent..I would like to tell u that this accent was created by peter sellers..who played a Indian character. ..I havent met a single Indian person who speaks like this...Apparently he was as ignorant as u r..agreed that the Indian accent is not the best sounding one in the world...but this works both ways...if u try to speak any Indian languages I m sure u wont do a splendid job at it...

Good observations. The music may sound a bit squeaky because they are Indian tunes adapted to a Western concept like a "Military Band" :).
BTW, the concept of Military Band itself was introduced by the British. Hence we find many similarities. :)

Hi, yes i am surprised the modern Indian army wants to appear so British in their military band syle. But i guess thats the only working model they have for it, and they do manage to put their own twist on it. They probably have more bands in their army today than the ever shrinking British Corps of Army Music! And they retain a style left over from the Raj, whether they like it or not! Rather funny and ironic.

Yes. The Indian Army some times is "more British than the British themselves" :). Most of the old Army regiments have a pipes and drums as well as a military band at their regimental centres. New regiments either have one of them.

It would be interesting to get hold of some CDs of a few of these bands. Do you know if any are available for purchase?
