Nathan Milstein plays Massenet Meditation

Back

Milstein has been a favorite violinist of mine since I can remember. His recording of the Bach Chaconne is one of the greatest masterpeices I have ever heard. This recording has not been heard that much I think so enjoy!

it is very beautiful, and I love so much his sound's support..the vibrato is quiet natural and mastered..
However, I imagine he had not always been so quickly .. I think the piano is for many .. with the orchestra, it would be different .. but never mind, Thaïs had many meditations, and I fear that this is not done soon .. ^ ^
thank you for this video .. Milstein is really a very great musician ..

This was FABULOUS, but still, no one can play the slow songs like Kreisler

Wow, how was that? Mighty fantastic to my ears. Nathan Milstein seems to have complete control over the highest notes like no other. His use of vibrato is magnificent also. Bravo!

it fits with the piece. rhythm and all. Like some vibratos seem out of place and random. Milstein is amazing! I love his vibrato as well.

Beautiful and elegant-Milstein always made good choices about his music, and here he had the good taste to leave those last overly dramatic bars at the very end that are just too over the top; I agree with Milstein that they don't serve the piece well..much better with his ending and I choose to do the same!
