Wrong, Lightning goes Up, not down.
I was hit by lightning while driving home about 8 years ago, car was fine. My vision was all blury for about 10 mins had to pull over and wait until I could see again. Car was fine, apart from a small repaint job on the roof.

there are slow motion videos of lightning originating from the ground and since ur brain works thanks to electrical impulses a lightning strike could affect your motor functions easily
