A Minivan travelling along Hwy 401 near the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) during a thunderstorm is struck by lightning and the strike is captured on tape by passengers of a trailing vehicle.

c4mpincarl is right! Electric field lines cannot penetrate a perfect conductor. So the safest place you can be would be in a conductor casing. It will protect you from any Electric Fields. It will also be a constant potential inside,.. so you don't have to worry about volts or amps or whatever it is that worries you :P

haven't you taken basic science classes? The electricity is only conducted in a field around the car, not through the whole vehicle. An electric field only spreads on the outside of the vehicle. And volts can kill you as well (what difference does it make?).
