LDS Homosexuality Pt. 1: Go Forward
BackIn a 1998 general conference address in which he addressed the issue of Latter-day Saints with same-sex attraction, President Gordon B. Hinckley of the LDS Church expressed his love for them as sons and daughters of God, and added that "if they do not act upon [their same-sex] inclinations, then they can go forward as do all other members of the Church." The short film Go Forward powerfully tells of one Latter-day Saint's journey to take President Hinckley at his word.
"Embracing Our Homosexual Children" tells about an LDS family with eleven children, in which four are homosexual.
As the 1st part in a 3 part series, these films have been produced for the Mormon audience to gently educate them about homosexuality. These videos have been shown with wide acceptance among Bishops, Church members, therapists, PFLAG members from various religious backgrounds, as well as within the Mormon gay community.

I am Gay and LDS still ^^ but to hell with those stupid christian dogma ;) (Only in America) Where I live, believing that old-fashioned and irrational stuff is called stupidity by most heterosexuals, too...And only stupidity is a bad thing. I'm a good and high performant member of society and don't do anything wrong. But I love men and doing my stuff with them, don't need permission or explanations, check that out *lol* Don't bother posting me any bullshit in reaction to this.

Once, I dreamt that I was Harry Potter, I'm gonna make up his gospell, and star to spread it all around the world, or not. Because I will end up like joseph smith, lynched like the dog he was.

As an LDS married woman, I don't know where you are getting your information. Mormon men have one wife, just like the rest of the world. If their wife dies or they are divorced, they are allowed to marry again. If men OR women break the law of chastity by "sleeping around," it is taken very seriously and may result in excommunication. I couldn't allow others to read your remarks thinking they were true for they are completely false.

True true. Only polygamists have more than one wife and they're not really even Mormon. They're a branch of fundamentalists...
And it's against the law. That's why the polygamit compounds have all been raided.

It is tragic what this religion has done to this young man and to who knows how many others. These are the people that claim to be the guardians of morality? Please... Let's be serious...

I am LDS however I am one to beleive that you cant choose whom you fall in love with whether it be male or female. I dont understand the fact the two men or two women cant get married. I know it has something to do with the bible but if God has a plane for us and he can choose whom we fall for then why cant all people be whom they want? I God makes a man fall for a man but then says they cant be together for enitnty then, what?

God didn't "make" man fall for man. We all have inclinations toward one thing or another. Some people simply have a homosexual tendency, one that needs to be overcome in order to follow God's plan. You can choose not to though as we all have freedom of choice.

An unfulfilled and shamed life lived alone is no cure for homosexuality. How can anyone watch this and not recognize this as tragedy is beyond me.

Hi Abe... Where did you here that mormon males are allowed to sleep with whoever they want? i've never heard that.
Many are much more open in talking about homosexuality, but it is admittedly an extremely difficult issue.
