"What happened to the prophecy that those that live during that time will not pass away." -- It was just another of those "truths" directly from God, that turned out to be a little mistake.

What happened to the prophecy that those that live during that time will not pass away. It was explained that those that were alive in 1914 and saw all that would not die before the "New Paradise" would occur. But we are now into 2008 nearly a 100 years from that generation. Most that could understand the significance of that era are dead.

I was raised as a jehovahs witness. They are strange. As soon as I was old enough to think for myself and make my own spiritual decisions I realized they just use guilt trips and scare tactics to make the followers participate in the kingdom hall. Children should NOT be raised believing the end of the world could be any second...with fire and angels with swords KILLING all of the people are ARENT jehovah's witnesses.

Hereticbooks, sorry it took a while to get back to you.
But yes, the jw's do have their own prophets, so-to-speak.
They consider the governing body to be the "mouthpiece of god".
Finish later got to go

And i don't give a shit what jesus would have done. I don't believe in religion. I think jesus existed and did some things people thought were great, but i bet you his shit stunk just like mine and he put one sandal on at a time.
Give me a break, do you think your "god" would send down his "only begotten son" to die because we fucked up. How messed up would that be. Religion is a system of control, do your homework.

Laurencoon, i've written over and over about why i absolutely HATE jw's. I'm not doing it again. Look back through these pages and find it yourself.
1 thing i will say is that jw's ARE infringing on personal rights because every sucker they get into the fold can no longer "hang" with "worldly" folk, no longer study other religious beliefs, and his schedule is whatever the jw meeting schedule is.
Fuck, i've seen jw's give up AWESOME jobs just cuz it wasn't "witness approved".

The WTS. has strategically marketed themselves as God's only solemn organization on earth, which is intensionally similar to 1000 other Christian organizations. This was deliberately done with the sole purpose to increase their readership revolving their published literature and to cull others to push it further into the market place, exploiting the people that believe in the bible. Sure its devious coercion and out right corruption but as long power exist, men will exploit

Vegas, WHO has these "new" revelations you speak of. Do JW's have a prophet who receives revelation?
sacolton (November 20, 2008 at 12:59 pm)
It's no secret that the Watchtower considers itself God's prophet. They have shown time and time again they don't have the gift to prophecize. They say they are God's mouthpiece and truth comes from their organization. Look at their history on making false prophecies and it's clear why everyone should steer clear of their organization.

So, do they sit at a round table and vote on the prophecies? Or what?
