Why do so many Muslims hate the United States? What has America done to alienate so many people in the Muslim world? These are the questions that former Pakistani cricketer turned politician, Imran Khan, tries to answer in this latest offering of the Unreported World series.

At Islamabad's Women's College, a concert for peace is taking Place. The students are mainly from privileged, middle-class backgrounds. If you were looking for Muslims that sympathised with the West, this would be the first Place you would go. But even here, amongst the more liberal, "Westernised" Pakistanis, anti-American feeling is riding high.

"It's as if one white life was far more important than thousands of black or brown lives," comments one young, educated, middle-class woman. "They feel they can basically come in, use as they please, and then, when they want, they can just walk across the border, go somewhere else, and do exactly as they please there," complains another.

The underlying feeling here is clearly that the US only cares or acts when its own people are at risk. If these liberal, cosmopolitan women feel this way about America, how must those who do not benefit from the Western way of life feel?

AS muc once can generalise, muslims don't blame the US for everythinh the blame them for everything thus actually does. Many dictatots were in fact put in place by the US goverment (the US has overthrown more than 20 countries with democratcially eleceted leaders), it's about the way you treat those that are not your own. This not about religion for even Christian countries have suffered due to US foreign policy. Read about Iran and dmeocracy and what happened there.look at Guantananomi

I wish the US had never gone to Iraq, what a huge mistake. The thing that makes me wonder is why do muslims blame the US and Israel for everything. They take no personal responsibiity for their poverty, their terrorism, their evils. All they say is that Isalm is peaceful, but if you study Islam that is a lie.

Imran khan rock is amazing!! I loved his games even though I never supported the pakistani cricket team:)
I love how liberal his pilitical views are compared to other conservatives.
ammerica is being stupid by alienating Muslim countries just as they are by even daring to imagine what ti would be to go against putin, chavez and castro!
gooood luck america. it would be nothing if north korea, russia, muslim countries, south america decides to join forces

Democracies in many muslim nations would be laughable but Iraq has had a secular system for a while and they may be ready. America was always fighting the bigger war where there were inconsistencies within a pond but in the ocean it made sense. Yes there were mistakes as in such a large theatre of war as the globe but overall I think they have had a good record of winning global wars.

Check it up and you might see the Russians overthrew the secular govt. and occupied Afghanistan. It is not important that Iraq had WMD but it was important that America was babysitting Iraq and that the sanctions they imposed were making other nations rich when they had to do the hard work. So invasion ended up the only option to alleviate the mess that was Iraq. America knew Iraq needed investment and they were prepared to oversee such an investment but not with Saddam in power.

Didnt Iraq attack Iran and Kuwait?? Didnt Saddam make the decision to use the gas?? Isnt the onus of murder on the murderer or is it somehow the gun shoots itself or the knife got up and stabbed someone??? Now Saddam bought Russian military gear, didnt he?? Could be he was in the market for chemical weapons and he would have bought from the Russians anyway?? Strangely didnt he run a socialist system exactly the anathema to America's preferred system?? Could be that he was a compromise, maybe.

...Which is why Middle-Easterners say they want to be 'left alone' by America. You guys caused too much disasters there, and all your dirty tricks left millions of civilians dead and entire peoples destroyed... So I think America should better stop any political involvment in the Middle East.

Anyway, my point was that there are good reasons if Americans are so alone in the world with their faith in America being committed to freedom, world peace, human rights etc.

You can't expect people to be eternally grateful to America when they've seen America overthrowing democraties, supporting dictators, fudning terrorists, and then using the presence of dictators and terrorists as a pretxt to ravage and occupy their countries.

I hope you understand what I mean. Stop this hypocrisy pls
