HOLY HOLY HOLY

His world was characterized by violence, alcoholism, and abuse, but young Donnie McClurkin found a safe haven in his church, Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, Assemblies of God. It was there, at the age of nine, when he made a commitment to Christ. Throughout his troubled youth, amidst the strife of daily life, he learned to stand on the promises in the scripture. "A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men." (Prov 18:16) "I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it" (Rev. 3:8). Donnie was born, and raised in Amityville, New York. Because of a God-given gift of music that ran in his family, Donnie formed the McClurkin Singers with his siblings, and a few close friends in 1979. It wasn't long after that when Donnie began to feel a calling to preach. He went on to meet gospel-legend Andrae Crouch, who became a mentor to him. Through that relationship, grew a friendship that would shape the entire course of Donnie's future.

Where should I start? Firstly the bible is completely morlly bankrupt. Even ignoring things such as the crusades inspired by it the book istself is filthy.

The biblical god is a murderous homophobic child-murderer.

Many cherished charcters in the bible, such as Moses, are also violent murderers.

But more importantly because historically it has been shown to be almost completely false. There is no evidence for it being true and plenty of evidence to suggest its made up nonsense.

Why are you an atheist? What don't you believe in the Bible? Scientific explanations?
mycatistigger (December 1, 2008 at 10:54 am)
Personally I'm an atheist. But I would like to thank clororadomickeyS for sharing his faith with us. We all have much to learn and none of us should be so arrogant to assume we know everything about god. Perhaps the flying sphigetti monster is another incarnation of our lord jesus crhist, perhaps not, but shouldn't shouldn't we respect other people's beliefs as we hope they will respect our own?

dcxJ,people write songs or compose songs from their hearts and there is nuttin wrong with writing songs about Jesus when it comes from your heart. I believe you need to have an intimate relationship with Jesus to understand;its just like being in luv my dear friend. I pray the holy spirit opens the eye of ur understanding. God bless u real gud.

The song's really nice.. but still.. I honestly support the presumption that if you write songs about Jesus or any religion, it isn't very original. I like putting more thought into it.
