A very highly sophisticated and abstract form of Art works are also produced by the Santhals in India. The Gonds of the Godavari belt, who as a tribe are as old as the Santhals, produce figurative works rich in colours. Gond Tribal Painting is done by Gondi people who live in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh & Orissa. Gondi people pray to various Gods & spirits. These paintings like various other tribal art is done on the walls of the houses. The depiction of their environment in the form of forests, trees, animals, birds is prominent in the paintings. Bhajju Shyam's work won a State award in 2001 and today he has illustrated 'The London Jungle Book' by Tara Books.Lovely art form from the tribal forests of Gond. Amazing colours & intricate workmanship makes it a winner.

Bhajju is an expertiece in the field who has come out with interesting books.You can contact him through TARA publication.attempt to search and visit through search engine as well it is better you make a trip to the concerned village to have a clear Idea about the art since it is a folk art.All the best
