As much as I got a kick out of watching your fun video, it also made me VERY emotional. Especially watching those little kids in the vid. Because I was once one of them growing up in Japan surrounded by a big loving family... That was way more than 30 years ago!! (sob)
That bath tub is such a riot!! :D
My dear grandma used to bathe me in that same wood-fire heated tub when I was little. That kind of memory NEVER leave you, ya know?

Thank you for sharing your happy memories with us. As you know this type of old Japanese home is quickly disappearing in Japan along with the humble and gentle lifestyle of the older generation. I cherish these years while our daughter's grandparents are still alive and am grateful that Emily has a chance to experience this type of living which I fear will soon be largely gone from Japan. -Kurt
