its active directive counseling, not person centred, theres over 500 models of counseling, but i agree, I don't like this model, she talks more than her client!

Yeah, these comments are agreeable. Giving advice, solutions and options is a no-no in the first stage of counselling. Yes, the counsellor needed to do less talking and more focused on how the client was feeling.
Needs to be 'Client-centered' and have more reflective listening skills. Anyway, it was only a role-play.

This is a terrible counselling session - the counsellor did more talking than the client and she never once asked about the clients feelings. She gave the client some tasks to do to solve the problem as the counsellor saw it, and didn't even check out how the client felt about any of the ideas. A great example of how not to counsel!!

I could'nt agree more. This is absoultely one of the bad practices in counselling that should be avoided. It supports the misconception of counselling as giving advice and telling people how to lead their lives.
