My grandmother lived in East Saint Louis in the 40's, and it is right across the bridge from St. Louis, on the Illinois side. It is also a hop, skip and a jump from where I was born...The St. Louis jazz and blues scene is still very much alive in this area. On the loop in St.Louis, Chuck Berry still plays once a month. Enjoyed the history here. 5 stars
