loved this a as a child , a part of of american culture, and a classic, thi s song , is one of my fave tunes from this, we didi the play i was chicken soup with rice. gosh thanks for posting this good time and place for me.

OMG. I was thinking of this today so I looked it up here...I didn't realize it was so old! I watched it in the early 90s, and I had the little book set by Maurice Sendak with 4 stories/songs.

Album comes from the Latin word for "white" or "blank" as in a blank book for pasting pictures or memorabilia. The early 78 rpm records lasted only about 5 minutes on a side, so any worthwhile piece of music required several disks, which were packaged in a "book" resembling a photo album.

I used to read the books and watch the movies in elemantry school. Times have changed but nothing will ever bet this wonderful classic. I always loved the Chicken Soup with Rice song.
