I knew animals and insects were persons.... look at catwoman, batman and spiderman !!!!!!!!!

This is an odd style of Buddhism. To say that animals are persons is not only a distortion of the English language but it is not Buddhism as such. There are six realms of this world-system: hell, hungry ghosts, animals, humans, titans, and heaven. Being born a human is not the same as being born a human (except metaphorically or spiritually). What he means is to say that animals are sentient beings, and therefore deserve the same respect as persons.

Dear TheShadow,
The Buddha is not worshipped as a god, but respected as a very clever man, who figured things out. When one bows to him, it is in honor of his wisdom and compassion.
He said many times that he was a simple man, who had worked out--rediscovered actually--how to have a good and just life.

In Buddhism you can eat meat if you want. anyway you can be a good person practicing Buddhism. like in Theravada tradition and Mahayana.

Yea the whole meat thing. Basically if the buddhist monks were offered any food from the villagers, they would take it and be grateful regardless.
How I see it is, if you're grateful that whatever animal got killed for you to live on, it's fine. Don't take it for granted.
