the only reason women cover themselves in the west is because they are mentaly ill.

I bet it hurts you that they don't show you their body.

If you were not stupid, you will bring an intelligent argument to the table. I'm shocked you know how to spell the word "stupidity."

wearing a black pre-ordained sack to please someone elses issues about sex and normal life is not even close to free...
What do you mean when you say free? You mean freedom do seduce with sexy dressing or sleeping with anybody a woman or man wants? Problem with your Secular culture freedom means, women should be allow to screw around with every body and still claim that you are civilised. It has bee decided thousands of years these practices are paganism, you call it secularism.

Whilst rampant promiscuity is undoubtedly a less desirable trait of modern society, this is a fault of education (lack of). It certainly isn't an atheistic trait.
Women should be free to dress as they please - and should certainly be able to have an equal say in who they choose to have a relationship with.
If a man is unable to restrain himself after looking at a woman in a short skirt - who is the less civilised? The self-confident woman or the man who can't control his sexual urges?

Whilst rampant promiscuity is undoubtedly
Free to dress and dressing to seduce people are two different things and any man will will be tempted by a woman if she wants to but she can put him in a lot of trouble too. This is the reason Islam forbid dressing to provoke men or women and also advise men to lower their gaze. Your argument is just out of date, it could fit into an adulterous generation like the Western world. Controlling and tempting are two different things too.

How can my argument be out-of-date? I'm the one encouraging equality. You're clinging to rules set in a 1500 year old book.
Whilst I appreciate the fact that the Muslim faith encourages men to act respectfully towards women, it seems ironic to me that the best way of doing this is by covering them from head to toe. Why can't men (of all faiths - or lack of) be taught to respect women as actual people - and not sex objects?
It shouldn't matter how a person chooses to dress.

Is Saudi Arabia a religion? At least, get your understanding clear first.
webdawah (February 13, 2008 at 4:59 pm)
Have you lived there? Do you know the laws of the Saudi society? What about the ones who cover themselves in the West? How many of them are being arrested?
