what does it mean when he says "here i raise my ebenezer?"

In Hebrew, "Ebenezer" means "God has led us thus far" or "Thus far God has helped us". It is a reference to an episode in the Old Testament in which the prophet Samuel creates a memorial to remind people of when God helped them.

1 Samuel 7.12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, Thus far has the LORD helped us.

i will use the words of einstein
he was one of the greatest men that has lived on this earth
he said that the farther he delves into the misteries of the cosmos the more he began to realize that there was a grand creator or a supreme power
all that has happened can not be explained with science
because all that we have discovered
they are only laws that have been instituted by god and we are descovering them
so there is a god and no not all religions worship the same god

Einstein was an athiest, and he was attacked for it. I quote: " It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If there is something in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." 'Twas important to him to be clear, so I'm helping.

I really respect your opinion. I know we have never met but it will never matter to me what someones religious inclination is. I don't ever pretend to know what the truth is. I love you all and I never pretend to know the truth. Just know I will always be willing to lay down my life for a perfect stranger because I know that is the only way. No matter what waits for us beyond this world, we can treat each other with respect and love while alive on this planet.

Christians, Jews, and Muslims do not worship the same god. Just because all three religions call upon the "God of Abraham", does that mean that it is the same view of God. The view of God and His role is the lives of men vastly differ in each religion. Each religion draws its doctrine heavily on different text.

Just because the different religions all have different holy texts doesn't mean we worship different gods. It's the same God and different opinions of what He expects of us. The Mormons have their own holy book, but they still worship the 'Christian' God.
Personally, because I believe that there is only one God, I believe that all religions worship the same one by different names. God is God is God.

Nostawyn, you are absolutely correct. Allah means literally The G-d (el elah) and non-Muslim Arabs call G-d "Allah" as well. :)
