Schizophrenia - Extreme States of Mind - Part 2

Back

Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist discusses symptoms of severe mental states such as catatonia and hallucination. This is psychological view of schizophrenia.

Are extreme states of mind like schizophrenia biological mental illnesses or psychological disorders?

What is the best hope for recovery for someone suffering from such an extreme state of mind? Can these people be treated with psychology or do such states require psychiatry and medication?

Often these states are drugged with antipsychotic medications such as Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon, Haldol, Thorazine, Stelazine and Clozaril. All of these drugs are used to control symptoms only. They are not cure for mental disorders. They all have an unknown mechanism of action. Some have side effects and adverse events that can cause permanent neurological damage, movement disorders, diabetes, weight gain, impaired cognitive functioning.

You are right, sleep deprivation is enough to make a sane person appear schizophrenic.

Don't you confuse a psychosis with schizoprehnia? Anyway if this is true i would almost have become a schizoprehnic (low self esteem and all)! Thank god for my unstable self-image!

Please go to Yahoo and type in the phrase "Horrible Truth About Psychiatric Drugs" into their search to find a report that reveals the truth about theee drugs that no psychiatrist will tell you. Also do the search with the phrase "Documented Proof Psychiatric Drugs Shorten Lifespan". Be sure to include the quotes to narrow the search so you find the intended research paper on these drugs/ The drugs promote suicide and violence not prevent, cause impotence, no libido and make you fat disphoric.

The experience of birth or rebirth happens during a psychotic episode, it's evident in shamanism, the identity of 'self' falls away with the personal paradigm, it's not an illness, it's natural and ultimately inevitable.
