i do know that fast doesn't automatically mean good. It was just reply to Danklin24. he mentioned that clapton plays fast but john mayer has better techniques. I just wanted to note that clapton doesn't play fast.

fast doesnt automatically =good all these musician have the ability to just get up and shred but that isnt the point the skill is knowing when to play fast & when to slow down & feel it There is an interview w/mayer where he says about Gravity that he was happier with what he didnt do on that song there were many places where he could have done more but that was not the right feel for the song & what he likes more is seeing a musician exhibit patience. That is where the Slowhand names comes from
