Live free or die! says it all. If your choice is to live as a slave or die, any moral, rational man would choose to die.

As Patton said, "Nobody ever won a war by dying for his country, he did it by making the other sorry bastard die for his."

Well, I think a reasonable person would say you can judge for yourself. Are Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the federal reserve and the mortgage encouraging laws that got us in such a mess features of capitalism or things that capitalism had to work around? What do you think?

you have got to be kidding. the wealthy do not go to war and neither do their children. it is the working class and the poor that do the fighting. the rest sit back and continue to get richer from their investments because war creates more wealth for those in and near the boardrooms.
Mrmikeshelton (December 27, 2008 at 10:19 am)
actually war is bad for business. It may create short term wealth, but wealth is a long term value. War is all about destruction, which is detrimental to wealth, which thrives on production. War destroys markets, destroys resources, kills workers, and kills consumers.

mrm: war is primarily destructive to the people and the nations that it is exported to. where the military devices are manufactured, there is wealth.

I am a Vet, I believe that the point you are making is that we fight due to enlightened self interest?
