chocolate:i understand where you are coming from with your comments, but unless you were/are JW,you won't fully grasp it. I think those who will sympathize the most, will be those who were 'born' into it. It's all you know - it's all your friends.I grew up with people for 20 years,who now,don't have anything to do with me, who cross the road to avoid me,i'm not DF'd nor have i done anything to be DF'd -basically you won't understand unless you've been there.

just wanted to send my sympathies.i was lucky enough to wise up before i got baptized.those that have to face the likelihood of getting disfellowshiped have got it rough in a way few people can understand.

I wish it were that simple my friend. Its interesting that you speak of a mental prison. That is exactly what we have chosen to leave behind by leaving the organization despite the very real probability of losing contact with loved ones. It takes great courage to stand up for what is right, but the choice to leave and free our minds comes with a price, a price that many pay for on a daily basis. Getting on with our lives is what we choose. And we are condemned for it.

Until you have been alienated from your family for being an abused wife or child or for simply not believing what a cult tells you to, you have no idea about the help needed to move on. I, like many on JWD have moved on but remain to help others who are newly out of the cult. There is no attack here; just a simple warning about a destructive cult and an offer of support for those who have left or are in the process of leaving. What, exactly is your problem?

Chocolatepowershovel, once you have been thrown out of yuor fatherly house as a 16 year old, once you've been strangled by your father and had to fight him off and bring in the cops to settle it, and perhaps once you've been through some more personal, psychological and emotional, growth, you will understand.

you obviously dont understand what happens to people who leave that religion. They are forced to start life all over again and loose every person they love at the same time. its not easy, so please dont judge.

i myself am in a similiar circumstance. not dfed but should be. keep it up as long as you can. the more people you can convince while your still technically a jw the better. check out captives of a concept by don cameron good stuff
