Allah has placed mankind on Earth in order for them to choose for themselves whatever eternal destiny they wish. Killing any apostate would be against this, and so too against Allah. I refuse to believe that Allah is a god of revenge and intolerance. Murder is not universally applicable and is therefore no part of perfection. There should be absolutely NO punishment for apostasy for it is that person's right to continue life without Allah. Only Allah can judge in the end and no man.

Yeah, the questions polled were pretty loaded. I'd like to see the answer if it were "Is it OK for someone to interpret the Koran as they best understand it, even if it contradicts some interpretations?

As both the announcer himself and the older gentleman were trying to make the case of, Islam can be interpreted in ways that make freedom and liberty a core of the belief system. Read more literally it is bloodier and intolerant. The Bible is much the same, Jesus himself said in a parable drawing himself into the position of a king that those who won't acknowledge him should be slayed before him.

It is the radical Muslims that are so much trouble. They will kill even the moderate Muslims if they do not accept Sharia Law. Islam is more proselitizing than Christianity.
And yet that is their true attitude.
