Anglican Ordination of 15 Priests, 1 Deacon
Back11 women and 4 men ordained as Anglican priests, plus 1 woman as deacon. At The Cathedral of St. Paul, Wellington, New Zealand, on 25 November 2006. Historical notes: The Anglican Church in New Zealand began to ordain women to priesthood in 1977. The New Zealand Anglican Church was the first to appoint a woman to head a diocese when Penny Jamieson became bishop of Dunedin in 1990. Only three Anglican communions worldwide currently have women bishops: the United States, Canada and New Zealand. The Wellington Cathedral of Saint Paul is the cathedral church of the Anglican Diocese of Wellington and is the seat of its bishop of Wellington. Work commenced on the cathedral in 1955, and was completed in 1998.
News from England, 26 Nov 06: Researchers at the University of Manchester say that women priests will save the Church of England from sinking in the future. David Voas, a senior researcher at the university, said statistics from last year's English Church Census showed that nearly half of all priests ordained in recent years have been women. He said: "Close to a quarter of male parish priests are 60 or older, and their average age is 54. Without women, the pulpits would become as de-populated as the pews in the years to come."

not so Anglican2006. The Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches do not have women priests. They together with Roman Catholics comprise the historic Christian Church. In the early Church those groups which ordained women were regarded as heretical.

Its is shocking that The Arch Bishop of Canterbury shares a platform with Romanists.
This is an insult to the Early Anglican Martyrs who were put to death during the reformation.
The Pope was identified as the Anti-Christ during the reformation and is still the Anti-Christ today.
Anglicanism has lost its way!

Pope Leo XIII stated in his 1896 bull Apostolicae Curae that the Catholic Church believes specifically that the Anglican Church's consecrations are "absolutely invalid and utterly void" because of changes made to the rite of consecration under Edward VI, thus denying that Anglicans participate in the apostolic succession.

Christ called Men to the Priesthood. By allowing this facade to take place will only continue the falling away of people in the churches and in their faith.

Compromise is the reason why most congregations are dwindling. Just like glasnost, when you compromise about one thing it spirals out of control until eventually there is nothing left of the religion.

the ELCA had not maintained apostolic succession, but has only recently accepted Anglican participation in their bishop consecrations. Before that, it was just a governing office. Some synonds that formed the ELCA did not use bishops at all

I respectfully disagree. Those provinces that do NOT ordain women are growing. The provinces that do ordain women are losing people. 700 are leaving the ECUSA each week. That tells us something.

It is predicted that women "priests" will comprise half of Church of England clergy by 2025. By then, given the increasing number of people leaving the church, the number of female priests in the Church of England should equal the number of those in the pews!

ah women can be priests in the anglican church... and can be called whatever they please
