Skidboot was the greatest dog....so smart! It is more proof in this world that animals are intelligent, capable beings. RIP Skidboot. :)

Saw Skidboot on the Dennis Swanberg Show, and was totally amazed with the dog's performance.
Skidboot's owners were blessed to have such a unique and talented animal. we hope there will be many more skidboots's in their lives.

im sorry to tell you, but skidboot already died in March 2007 at home.

Eye surgery on canines isn't the same as human eye surgery, not to mention dogs get by more with their noses than their eyes. Skidboot probably had a few adjustments to make but with those keen senses I don't think he'd suffer too badly.

I had a little dog that I rescued when he was 11. By 12 he was blind. I was afraid his quality of life would be greatly impacted. We could try surgery, but there was no guarantee he would even survive it, let alone regain his sight. I was heartbroken. But when we got home from the vet, that little dog put his nose to the ground and started sniffing out the perimeters of each room and mapped out the whole house. He knew where everything he needed was. We lived happily for nearly 4 more years.

Yes, Skidboot died at his home in March 2007.
